Overview & Causes :

 High blood pressure is known as hypertension, which is the most common cardiovascular disease. It can affect both teens and aged person specially after 40. It is a condition where blood moves through the arteries with high pressure. High blood pressure can affect long term damage. Including damage of arteries and kidneys, heart attack, diabetes and several other serious
diseases.

 There are some causes which contributes to hypertension:

Improper way of living

  • Eating a high sodium & low potassium
  • Having severe stress & sleep apnea
  • Consuming alcohol & smoking
  • Older age & family history of high blood pressure
  • Adrenal & thyroids disorder
  • Overweight & inactive in physical activity
  • High salt intake

Diagnosis & Treatments: Hypertension often called as “silent killer”, because patient do not realize when they have high pressure, there may be no manifestations or signs. The verdict of hypertension is regular check up and monitor blood pressure to measure whether it is high or beyond normal range. Blood pressure is measured with the device known as sphygmomanometer. Blood pressure can be measure in 2 ways:

  • Systolic blood pressure is the maximum blood compulsion during a heartbeat, when the heart sends blood throughout the body.
  • Diastolic blood pressure is the lowest blood compulsion between heartbeats, when the heart fills with the blood.
